Just a month removed from his most recent stint in the National Football League, Breiden Fehoko is tackling a new challenge, staying ready for another opportunity on the field while building his profile as a football analyst.
The Farrington graduate and former LSU standout helped lead the Tigers to a national championship in 2019 before spending the last five seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers and Pittsburgh Steelers. He most recently suited up for Pittsburgh this past preseason.
Now 28, Fehoko who resides in Dallas, Texas is keeping in shape for another NFL shot while pursuing what he has long considered “phase two” of his football journey. With a degree in communications, the defensive tackle has become a must-follow on social media, offering a player’s perspective that blends insight with honesty.
“You know, I think it’s for me, it’s very intriguing,” Fehoko said. “Growing up watching guys like Rob (DeMello) and Kanoa (Leahey) do it at a high level in Hawai‘i really excited me beyond football. Providing fans insight is so important. There’s more information for the fans now more than ever. And I think as a player to provide that neutral ground voice for them … let’s bridge the gap between fans and the game.”
Fehoko says he now looks at the sport from a different vantage point.
“Growing away from the game a little bit, looking at it as if I’m not a player anymore, I look at it as if I’m a fan. What do the fans want? What do they want to see?” he said. “It’s not about trolling people on social media or teasing people if they have a bad game. It’s about informing them. You might have seen a play one way, but this is the coverage we were running. This guy isn’t ‘trash.’ And I think that’s really a good part of social media, especially X now. I’m excited to be a part of that.”
Fehoko regularly hosts interactive live shows across multiple platforms, breaking down games, players and storylines while staying connected to the sport he loves.
