Woman, 58, dead after crash in Kalihi

HONOLULU (KHON2) — On Sept. 22, around 7 p.m., a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian occurred in the Kalihi area.

According to HPD, a 58-year-old woman was attempting to cross North School Street within a crosswalk when she was hit by an unidentified male driver who was making a left turn from Kokea Street.

Officials said the male driver fled the scene and was last seen traveling westbound on North School Street.

Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the woman to a hospital in critical condition, where she later died.

Police ask anyone with information to call the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, at (808) 723-3413.

This is the 63rd Traffic Fatality on Oahu this year, compared to 31 at the same time in 2024.
