Deadline nears for Poppi customers to submit claim for settlement

(NewsNation) — The deadline is nearing for customers of popular soda brand Poppi to submit a claim as part of an $8.9 million class-action lawsuit against the soft drink’s former owners.

Earlier this summer, VNGR Beverage, LLC., Poppi’s former owner, agreed to settle claims that the beverages were improperly marketed, labeled as “gut healthy.”

The lawsuit stated that customers purchased the drink based on the claims from VNGR, despite there being no scientific evidence behind them. According to court records, the company admitted no wrongdoing.

To be eligible for a portion of the settlement’s payment, customers must have purchased any flavor or package size between Jan. 23, 2020, and July 18, 2025.

According to the claims website, customers with proof of purchase may receive cash back in the following amounts:

  • As much as $0.75 per can
  • $3 for each four-pack
  • $6 for each eight-pack
  • $9 for each 12- or 15-pack

A reimbursement cap of $16 applies to customers with no proof of purchase.

The deadline to submit a claim is Sept. 26.

PepsiCo acquired Poppi in March for $1.95 billion.
