Hawaiian Electric customers without power in Kailua

HONOLULU (KHON2) — More than 5,900 customers are without power in the Kailua area.

Residents say the power went out around 7 p.m. tonight.

In a social media post, Hawaiian Electric confirmed the incident and said crews are responding, and this is not a public safety power shut-off.

According to Hawaiian Electric’s website, the estimated time of restoration is 10 p.m.
