New program gets kids inspired in the healthcare field

HONOLULU (KHON2) — If your child wants to be a doctor or dentist, or maybe they don’t know yet, there’s an amazing program that exposes elementary school kids to careers in healthcare.

Organizers joined WakeUp2Day to talk about “Dr. Me!,” a free STEM program designed to expose keiki in grades 3 to 5 to careers in healthcare.

The program introduces keiki to medicine, dentistry, nursing and research.

The pilot program was this Summer in collaboration between Hawai’i Links and Kaiser West O’ahu.
