Transportation for Lāna‘i, Moloka‘i residents available for Maui County Fair

MAUI, Hawai’i (KHON2) — The Maui County Fair wants to make sure everyone can join in on the fun this year, so they are offering special boat rides and shuttle services for residents of Lāna‘i and Moloka‘i.

Residents will be offered access to these transportation services on a first-come, first-served basis through an online application process.

Applications for the ferry and shuttle services are available here. If you are selected, a confirmation will be sent to your email by Sept. 28.

Officials want to remind applicants that seats are not guaranteed after applying. All reservations must be made through the online system and cannot be made by phone or by Expeditions.

Transportation Details for Lāna‘i Residents

Officials want to remind residents that ferry and ground transportation from Lāna‘i to the fair is the individual’s responsibility. You can apply for the return transportation services here.

  • Dates: Saturday, Oct. 4 and Sunday, Oct. 5.
  • Shuttle: Extended hours for late-night returns via Expeditions.
  • Schedule: Shuttle departs from the fairgrounds at 8:00 p.m., which will connect to the late-night ferry back to Lāna‘i. To board the late-night ferry, you must be on the shuttle.

Transportation Details for Moloka‘i Residents

If selected, you will have access to two round-trip boats and the bus services provided from the harbor and fairgrounds, then back to the harbor. You can apply for these transportation services here.

  • Date: Sunday, Oct. 5.
  • Shuttle services: Departures are at 5:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. from Kaunakakai Harbor. Shuttles will leave the fairgrounds at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. to return to the harbor.
