HONOLULU (KHON2) – Lt. Gov. Sylvia Luke and the Hawaiʻi State Public Library System have launched the Digital Navigator program, a new initiative to help residents strengthen digital literacy skills through Connect Kākou.
The program offers free one-on-one sessions at ʻEwa Beach, Kailua, Liliha, Waiʻanae and Waipahu Public Libraries, with plans to expand statewide.
“Hawaiʻi’s public libraries are community hubs where everyone can read, learn, and connect,” said State Librarian Stacey A. Aldrich. “We are excited to expand our services to help people develop the skills they need to succeed in the digital world.”
Through the program, residents can receive guidance on using devices, setting secure passwords, avoiding online scams, applying for jobs, and accessing telehealth services.
“This program is about ensuring everyone across our state, from Hilo to Hanalei, has access to the internet,” said Lt. Gov. Sylvia Luke. “It is our kuleana to make sure every resident has the skills and confidence to thrive online.”
The program is supported by Māpunawai and the University of Hawaiʻi.
