VOLCANO, Hawaii (KHON2) — Kilauea stuns once again with its latest eruption.
Episode 35 of the ongoing Halemaʻumaʻu eruption began around 8:05 p.m. on Oct. 17.
According to the USGS, there are sustained lava fountains that reached about 500 feet in height, currently erupting from the north vent.
Preceding this event, USGS said there was a series of “lava overflow-drainback” events at the south vent starting on Oct. 16.
