The Department of Land and Natural Resources has a few reminders for all those looking to participate in this year’s open season, which goes from Nov. 1, 2025, to Jan. 25, 2026.
All hunters must have a valid hunting license and game bird stamp when hunting on all private and public lands. If you need to purchase either of these items, you can do so here.
It is asked that all game bird hunters statewide follow the guidelines of Title 13, Chapter 122, “Rules Regulating Game Bird Hunting.” If you need a refresher, you can read it here.
It will also be required that hunters check in and out of established hunter check stations with DOFAW staff, or use the OuterSpatial app. To learn more about the app, read here.
It is required statewide that, if on private land, one must get the landowner’s approval.
All hunting of mourning doves will end on January 11, 2026, to comply with federal mandates, the Migratory Bird Treaty Act and state regulations.
