Hawaii Football earns Bowl Eligibility with win over Colorado State

The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors traveled to Colorado State on Saturday for their 1st of 2 straight road games.

Hawaii came into the game just 1 win shy of earning bowl eligibility.

In the 1st quarter, Hawaii Quarterback Micah Alejado found Nick Cenacle open over the middle for a 17-yard touchdown connection for the 1st points of the game.

To end the 1st quarter though, Hawaii was forced to punt which went for 60+ yards, but the Rams received it at their 10-yard line and returned it for 91 yards to tie the game up at 7.

The Rainbow Warriors though would get the momentum back on their side as Alejado connected with Jackson Harris for a 75-yard touchdown to put the ‘Bows back up in front.

But that wasn’t their only connection, as the 2 would connect on a 9-yard touchdown in the 3rd quarter to put UH up 21-7.

In the 3rd quarter with 3:09, Kansei Matsuzawa officially broke Former UH Great Jason Elam’s most consecutive made field goals with 21 (dating back to last season).

Colorado State put together a run in the 4th quarter as they scored a touchdown with 11:58 left and then another Touchdown with 6:50 remaining in the 4th quarter to pull within 5.

But Hawaii slams the door on a comeback as Cam Barfield scored a touchdown the next UH Drive.

Hawaii takes down Colorado State 31-19 and are officially bowl eligible.
