Attempted murder investigation opened following Kalihi shooting

HONOLULU (KHON2) — The Honolulu Police Department opened an attempted murder investigation following a shooting in Kalihi.

The shooting occurred on Oct. 23 at approximately 10:29 p.m. on Houghtailing Street and North School Street, HPD said.

At the scene two male victims, 35 and 53, reported that a gray sedan had followed them closely from behind while they were driving, police said.

The male suspect driving the gray sedan then pulled alongside the victims’ car, allegedly brandished a silver handgun and fired a round at the hood of their car, officials said.

Following the shooting, the suspect allegedly fled down makai-bound Houghtailing Street, investigators said.

No injuries were reported as a result of the shooting. Those with any information on the situation are urged to call 911.
