PALI, Hawaii (KHON2) – A 21-year-old motorcyclist was taken to the hospital in critical condition after a crash on Pali Highway Sunday afternoon, Oct. 26.
Officials said it happened just after 2 p.m. in the Kaneohe area. The rider was heading westbound when he lost control of his motorcycle and hit a concrete guardrail.
The impact threw him onto the roadway. Emergency crews responded and took him to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
Police said the man was wearing a helmet at the time.
Speed appears to have been a factor, but investigators are still looking into whether drugs or alcohol were involved.
The investigation is ongoing.
