HONOLULU (KHON2) — As Halloween has come to an end, Christmas festivities begin, especially for those looking to get their holiday shopping done early.
This past weekend, dozens of shoppers showed up at Kahala Mall for the Holiday Mom Made Market.
More than 35 local vendors set up shop throughout the mall to spread holiday cheer and good deals with early holiday promotions and gift ideas.
“It’s been busy, so we are happy about that,” Sal Terrae 808 owner Luz Guerrero said. “It’s really important for us because we are a small business and the only time we can do this is during the holidays, so it’s good for us.”
The market was on Saturday, Nov. 1, and Sunday, Nov. 2, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., giving shoppers all weekend long to find the perfect presents.
“I can do my Christmas shopping conveniently,” holiday market shopper Lee Ann Sheriff said.
Events like these are a one-stop shop for the community to celebrate and support all the unique small businesses Oʻahu has to offer under one roof.
“People come out to support local, see new businesses they’ve never seen, it’s really important,” Fabienne Dumlao, owner of Kuiki, said. “It’s a really good turnout… I was kind of concerned about the government shutdown… we didn’t know how many people had money to come out, but they still showed up.”
This is only the beginning of events to help get you and your ʻohana in the holiday spirit. Take a look at the Kahala Mall events calendar to see what’s coming up next.
