Hawaiʻi native, Carvalho’s first NCAA career touchdown in Week 10 victory

HONOLULU (KHON2) – Oʻahu native Mana Carvalho made a major impact in Week 10, scoring his first career touchdown in his team’s 14-45 win over Cincinnati.

The Kahuku standout returned three punts for 94 yards, including one he took all the way to the end zone. His big return gave his team even more momentum and helped keep a good pace for the remainder of the game.

There are more than 120 players playing across the country who list Hawaii as their home state. There are just a few of the notable performances from this past weekend:

Lawaiʻa Brown, linebacker, Central Michigan (Honolulu, HI)
Recorded eight total tackles, three solo and five assists, including a 0.5 sack and a 0.5 tackle for loss in a 21-24 loss to Western Michigan.

Charles Correa, linebacker, Purdue (Kuliʻouʻou, HI)
Recorded six total tackles, four of them solo, along with two assists, a 0.5 sack and 0.5 tackle for loss in a 16-21 loss to Michigan.

Uso Seumalo, defensive tackle, Kansas St. (Maunaloa, HI)
Recorded one sack, which included a tackle for loss in a 43-20 loss to Texas Tech.

Blesyng Alualu-Tuiolemotu, linebacker, UNLV (Kalihi, HI)
Recorded four total tackles, two of them solo and two assists, including a 0.5 tackle for loss in a 40-35 loss to New Mexico.

Liona Lefau, linebacker, Texas (Laʻie, HI)
Recorded four total tackles, three of them solo and one assist in a 31-34 win over Vanderbilt.
