Hawaiian Airlines cancels Neighbor Island flights due to FAA restriction

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Hawaiian Airlines will be canceling four Neighbor Island flights on Nov. 7, an airline spokesman said.

This comes as the FAA released a list of 40 U.S. airports that will have to undergo limited air traffic — with Honolulu’s Daniel K. Inouye International Airport being one of the 40.

The flights canceled are two roundtrip routes between Honolulu and Maui and Honolulu and Kona.

According to Hawaiian Airlines, their Neighbor Island service schedule will largely continue unaffected, with 20 other daily roundtrips from Honolulu to the Valley Isle and 15 other daily roundtrips to Kona.

Additionally, flights to Kauaʻi and Hilo will continue as scheduled.

Travelers on the canceled flights will receive notices of their cancelation and will be provided with accommodations for another flight or for a full refund, Hawaiian Airlines said.

Flights to and from the continent and international destinations are not affected by the cancelations.
