HONOLULU (KHON2) – A 70-year-old man was arrested Saturday morning, Nov. 8, after a deadly confrontation in a South Hilo parking lot.
Police say the incident happened around 7:30 a.m. on Kamehameha Avenue, where the suspect approached a 64-year-old man with a knife.
Investigators say a physical fight broke out and the suspect allegedly hit the victim with his van before driving away.
The victim was taken to Hilo Medical Center and pronounced dead shortly after 9 a.m.
The suspect was later treated for minor injuries and arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder.
