This episode is forecasted to last until Nov. 12, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

Hawaii County Civil Defense Agency wants to remind the public that ashfall is likely and can be an irritant to the eyes and respiratory system when excessively exposed.

Earlier this week, the U.S. Geological Survey said to keep an eye on Kilauea, as minor splattering at Halemaumau Crater and frequent lava overflows in one of the vents had been spotted.

Previously, episode 35’s lava fountains began around 8:05 p.m. on Oct. 17, ending at 3:32 a.m. the next day.
