HONOLULU (KHON2) — After a period of darkness for Keahole, Hawaiian Electric said their Keahole unit is back online, and ahead of it’s scheduled repaid time.
The blackout was following a major maintenance overhaul.
Two other units were also repaired and are now working.
Back in March, the company asked Big Island customers to limit electricity use and initiated rolling blackouts.
Now, HECO said it’s generators at independent power producer Kamakua energy are still being repaired.
