HONOLULU (KHON2) — Honolulu firefighters were kept busy after rescuing multiple hikers on Saturday.
To start the day, firefighters first responded to a hiker in distress stranded near Ehukai Pillbox Trail where a 21-year-old male hiker was found clinging to a tree on a steep cliffside.
First responders were able to locate and airlift the hiker to safety.
The second incident occurred at Lulumahu Falls Trail in Nuuanu around 2:08 p.m. when a group of four hikers were unable to continue due to a 63-year-old male falling from the trail.
Reports said HFD officials were able to locate the hikers around 2:29 p.m., conduct a medical assessment, and escort the hiker out on foot.
HFD said all the hikers were off the trail by 2:45 p.m.
Over in Pearl City, first responders received a call just before 4 p.m. when two female hikers, ages 17 and 35, were lost on the Manana Trail.
Reports said the two individuals got lost after hiking for five hours. GPD was used to locate the hikers and they were airlifted to safety.
No injuries were reported.
