Kaimuki High senior drafted into Korean War, honored 73 years later

HONOLULU (KHON2) — As a senior at Kaimuki High School, Earl Peters received his orders to serve in the Korean War.

73 years later, 91-year-old Peters is being honored for his service and will be presented with a honorary diploma, Saturday, July 27, on the anniversary of the Korean Armistice.

In attendance will be a representative from the US Army, The Veterans of Foreign Wars, members of the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Club, a representative of Kaimuki High School, a representative from the Korean Consulate and members of his care team at Malama Ola Health Services.

The event is being held by Malama Ola Health Services We Honor Veterans Program.
