County, nonprofit to host appliance recycling event in West Maui

HONOLULU (KHON2) — The County of Maui Department of Environmental Management, in collaboration with Malama Maui Nui, a nonprofit organization, is hosting a recycling event for West Maui residents from Thursday, August 1, through Saturday, August 3.

The “White Goods Appliance Collection Event” will accept eligible appliances such as refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, water coolers, washers, dryers, stoves, ranges, microwaves and water heaters.

Residents can arrange drop-offs and pickups by scheduling an appointment through the Malama Maui Nui website.

Dropoff service is available on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

For curbside pickups, available on Thursday, August 1 and Friday, August 2, residents must place their items at the curb by Wednesday, July 31.
