Officials said the $200 million investment hopes to enhance delivery capabilities for the state while also creating 500 jobs.

The facility plans to deliver between 300,000 to 400,000 packages per week. Amazon customers can now expect packages to arrive closer to the two-day delivery time that customers receive on the mainland.

In addition to Amazon products, DHI2 will also help deliver for local businesses around the state.

“We’ve been able to partner with about 1,000 local businesses that we will be able to service and help end that last mile and deliver directly for them,” said Stephanie Kalili, Senior Station Manager.
