HONOLULU (KHON2) — Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum presents Mele After Hours, an evening concert under the stars featuring multiple Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award artists on Friday, Aug. 9 from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the Museum’s Great Lawn. Bishop Museum’s Vice President of Public Programs, Brandon Bunag, joined Wake Up 2Day Friday morning to talk story about the concert.
“The event will be headlined by Sean Naʻauao with additional performances by Natalie Ai Kamauu, Ei Nei, and Kalaʻe Parish and Kalenaku Delima. This is an important event to us as Bishop Museum preserves and perpetuates the history, culture, and environment of Hawai‘i and the Pacific, and the talented performers of Mele After Hours will help bring these to life through their music,” Bunag said.
There will be different activities outside of the music.
“During the event, guests will not only be able to enjoy the concert but also explore the Museum’s Signature Galleries and exhibitions, as well as food and beverage booths, community partner booths and more,” Bunag said. “Guests will also be able to donate to Aloha United Way’s 211 Community Response Services, which provides support during disasters such as the Maui wildfires.”
Tickets for Mele After Hours are $30 for guests 14 and up, and free for those 13 and under. Bishop Museum Members receive $10 off.
