HONOLULU (KHON2) — Attention is shifting to the eastern Pacific, where there is a strong likelihood of a tropical cyclone forming in the coming days just east of 140W. It is too early to say what, if any, impacts we will see in Hawaii with this system. There could be strong winds and heavy rain this weekend, but this depends on the cyclone’s path and strength.
Currently, two low-pressure areas are along a broad monsoon trough, making it uncertain where exactly the cyclone will form. This uncertainty also makes it difficult to predict the cyclone’s future path.
