Gilma remnants to pass Hawaii Friday

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Tropical Storm Gilma is forecast to continue weakening as it closes in on Hawaii, bringing the possibility of heavy rain to portions of the islands on Friday.

As of the NWS’ 5 a.m. update, Gilma was 615 miles east of Hilo, moving west at 14 mph.

Gilma is expected to be a remnant low by the time it reaches Hawaii on Friday.

Behind Gilma, Hector is more than 1,400 miles east of Hilo, moving west at 10 mph.

Hector is expected to become a remnant low Thursday as it continues its way west.
