34-year-old motorcyclist dies after crashing into concrete center in Waikiki

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Honolulu Emergency Medical Services responded to a motorcycle accident on Ala Moana Blvd. claiming the life of a 34-year-old male.

HPD closed down the West bound lanes of Ala Moana Blvd. at Hobron Ln. Drivers were advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.


4 killed over the weekend in separate crashes in Hawaii

Officials said the incident happened around 9:50 p.m. on Saturday.

According to HPD, the motorcyclist was heading west on Ala Moana Blvd. when he traveled left on the road and collided into the concrete center.

After the collision, reports said the man was “ejected from the motorcycle and collided into a streetlamp pole” and was wearing a helmet during the collision.

The initial cause of the crash is still unknown.

EMS pronounced the man dead at the scene.

HPD revealed that this is Oahu’s 9th Traffic Fatality of 2024, compared to 12 during the same time last year. An investigation remains ongoing.
