“The Mid Autumn Moon festival is an important event in Asian cultures and it is celebrated on the night of the 15th day of the 8th month of the Asian lunar calendar – the night of the full harvest moon. The Festival emphasizes family, reunions, celebration and thankfulness for the past year’s harvest and the harvests to come,” the Chinatown Improvement District said in a news release.

Enjoy the lanterns that will be set out and don’t forget to eat a mooncake.

Why is Easter never on the same Sunday?

There will be free lantern-making, face painting and other family-friendly fun activities, lion dance, as well as food available for purchase.

The fun starts at 10 a.m. at Smith Beretania Park.
