University of Hawaii senior libero Tayli Ikenaga was named the Big West Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.
In a series split against Peperdine, the Moanalua alumna had a total of 60 digs, including 33 in Saturday’s win over the Waves.

On Sunday, Ikenaga became the first player since Tita Akiu against Baylor in 2018 to surpass 30 digs in a match. Akiu had 34.
Hawaii’s next match takes place on Tuesday against Texas State at 7 p.m. at the Stan Sheriff Center.
