Mililani gains traction in latest Cover2 rankings

After a pair of wins on the continent, Mililani has gained traction in the latest Cover2 rankings at No. 3.

The Trojans defeated Liberty 26-9 in Nevada on Aug. 31, then drove to Los Angeles and defeated Los Alamitos 27-24 on Sept. 6.

Prior to its contest against Mililani, Los Alamitos was 2-0 and outscored opponents 120-6.

Kahuku remained the top team in the Cover2 rankings with 16 first-place votes on a panel representing each football-playing island, while No. 2 Campbell took three. Mililani was the only other team with a first place vote.

Mililani is idle this week before taking on Waipahu on Sept. 21.
