HONOLULU (KHON2) — Lucky we live in Hawaii! A new 2024 study revealed that the Aloha state has been ranked the “Happiest State in the Nation.”
Each state was measured in 30 key indicators of happiness with data ranging from depression, productivity, income growth and unemployment rate.
According to WalletHub’s latest survey, Hawaii residents reported the highest levels of life satisfaction and the lowest depression rate.
The survey revealed that 86% of adults also reported they are in good or better health and 72% of adults reported being active and productive on a daily basis.
Hawaii has also ranked in the following areas:
27th: Suicide Rate
23rd: Number of Work Hours
4th: Separation and Divorce Rate
7th: Safety
3rd: Share of Adults Feeling Active and Productive
In addition, Honolulu has one of the lowest unemployment rates in the nation.
Maryland, New Jersey, Utah and Delaware filled the remaining top five spots. According to the survey, the unhappiest state in the nation is Louisiana.
