HONOLULU (KHON2) — The Hawaii Convention Center recently invested in 45 new pickleball courts and will use 15 of them in the inaugural Aloha Pickleball Games & Festival, which will take place at the center in November.
“The Aloha Pickleball Games & Festival will feature a competitive tournament format with a fun-filled festival for the entire family,” said event organizer Scott Winters.
The tournament will be played in a round robin format, following USA pickleball tournament rules. The top four players from each division will advance to the finals round. The top three will earn awards.
Entry fees are $80 per person for the first event and $25 per person for the second. Registration is open through Oct. 23 on the Aloha Pickleball Games & Festival page.
The event is from Nov. 1 to 3.
“We are excited to expand the Hawai‘i Convention Center’s highly successful sports courts program this year to include pickleball – a sport that has grown 60 percent in the past 5 years,” said Teri Orton, General Manager of the Hawai‘i Convention Center.
