1 dead following ʻEwa Beach house fire

HONOLULU (KHON2) — The Honolulu Police Department confirmed that one person died in an ʻEwa Beach fire on the night of Oct. 29.

The deceased individual is believed to be a 93-year-old woman, HPD said.

Four adult women were also in the Fort Weaver Road house that was ablaze, and they were able to escape the fire, police said.

Two of the women were transported to the hospital due to burn wounds, according to investigators.

The fire lasted less than three hours, with the Honolulu Fire Department extinguishing the fire at approximately 9:17 p.m.

HPD is investigating the death as an unattended death and HFD is investigating the cause of the fire.
