19-year-old motorcyclist, injured during crash, has died

HONOLULU (KHON2) — A 19-year-old motorcyclist who was involved in an early morning crash on Sept. 1 has died from his injuries.

The teen, who has not been identified, was traveling near Aiea on the H-1 eastbound at 12:30 a.m. when he rear-ended another motorcyclist. Both were ejected onto the roadway.

A motorist struck the 19-year-old and his motorcycle after another motorist had stopped to assist.

The motorist who struck the 19-year-old stopped briefly but then drove off.

The man was taken to the hospital by ambulance, where he died on Sept. 5

The other motorcyclist and their passenger were both taken to the hospital in good condition.
