HONOLULU (KHON2) — The Honolulu Fire Department added some new recruits.
On Friday, Sept. 26, HFD celebrated the 118th Fire Fighter Recruit Class at the Hawaii Okinawa Center.

There were a total of 31 new recruits who graduated, which included six who will be joining the state’s Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting unit.
“Over the course of this academy, we faced challenges in every form, physically, mentally and emotionally. We pushed ourselves through grueling physical training, worked through long days in the classroom, maxing out our random axis memory,” said Reyn Chagami, HFD Firefighter recruit.
All members successfully completed 34 weeks or 1,320 hours of extensive training to graduate.
