HONOLULU (KHON2) — A mom and her children escaped an abusive household member and could use a kind hand in starting over in a new home.
Mom has four children under ten. Earlier this year, they had to move to another island to escape what KHON2 was told a “life-threatening abusive relationship.”
They stayed at a domestic violence shelter and recently moved into their own place.
Mom works an overnight job so she can do school drop-offs and pick-ups and be there for her children.
Even though she gets little sleep, she knows she’s lucky as her sister stays with her children overnight when she works.
Mom is doing all she can to start over and to help her children through an emotional and difficult time.
Since they had to leave everything behind, there is much that they could use.
Her youngest, a four-year-old boy, would love a keiki fishing pole and a bike with a helmet.
Her five-year-old son would love books, especially to do with animals, and a bike as well.
Her seven-year-old daughter would love a bike or scooter with a helmet and a jump rope.
Her nine-year-old daughter would love science experiment kits and enjoys art, baking and cooking.
For Mom, gift cards would be extremely helpful but she could also use a coffee pot, crock pot, air fryer and she would love aroma therapy candles.
It would be nice if we could show support with a gift card for her sister, who is in her 20s, and watches the children at night.
In the spirit of laulima, our many hands working together, let’s help this mom on this new road and help her children have a happy holiday in their new home on a new island.
