A night of mega fun: The 3rd annual Megabon is back!

HONOLULU (KHON2) — This Saturday, Sept. 13, get ready for a night full of performances, activities, food and more at the third annual Megabon.

This year’s festivities will take place at Leeward Community College, where doors will open at 3:45 pm.

More than 80 local vendors will be featured at this year’s festival to explore throughout the evening while you enjoy Japanese festival games, a Taiko half-time show and bon dance group performances.

Last year’s festival brought in about 18,000 attendees, and officials are expecting to see a mega turnout this year.

The venue does not offer on-site parking, so guests are encouraged to plan when it comes to transportation.

“We are going to be bigger and better, with a lot of different changes this year for transportation, so we definitely recommend taking the rail,” Jenna Nakagawa, Megabon Co-Chair, said. “The rail station is right in front of the entrance to Megabon, so you’ll be right in the action.”

The Skyline will be extending its hours so attendees can easily access the fun. The last train will leave the Halaulani Leeward Community College Station in both eastbound and westbound directions at 10:15 p.m.

Skyline officials want to encourage guests to utilize the park-and-ride stations at Keoneae UH West Oahu, Honouliuli Hoopili Station and Halwa Aloha Stadium.

An exclusive Megabon Holo card design will be available for free at the DTS booth during the event.
