After 40-years in prison, ‘Manoa Rapist’ will be released

HONOLULU (KHON2) — After serving more than 40-years in prison, the man known as “The Manoa Rapist” will be released.

John Freudenberg admitted to raping or attempting to rape 16 women back in the 1980’s.

He was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole, and was granted parole in September.

Freudenberg will be released from Halawa Prison.

He will be placed on electronic monitoring and is required to register as a sex offender.
