University of Hawai‘i quarterback Micah Alejado was named the Mountain West Freshman of the Week after steering the Rainbow Warriors to a 31–19 win over Colorado State on Saturday in Fort Collins, Colo.
Alejado completed 26 of 38 passes for 301 yards and three touchdowns, marking his third straight game with at least 300 passing yards and three scores, the only FBS quarterback to accomplish that this season.
Two of Alejado’s touchdown throws went to Jackson Harris, including a 75-yard strike in the second quarter and a 9-yard score in the third. He also found Nick Cenacle for a 17-yard touchdown in the opening quarter.
It is Alejado’s fourth league freshman honor this season and the fifth of his career. The redshirt freshman’s performance helped Hawai‘i become bowl eligible for the first time since 2019 and extend its win streak to three, the longest of the Timmy Chang era.
The Rainbow Warriors are idle this week and will return to action Nov. 1 at San Jose State.
