Aloha HawaiianMiles! Atmos Rewards is officially here, and this is what you need to know:

HONOLULU (KHON2) — HawaiianMiles are now Atmos Rewards, as the rewards system transition is complete as of Oct. 1.

Atmos Rewards is the new loyalty program for both Alaska and Hawaiian Airlines, which began the transition on on Sept. 26.

With the new programs, members will be able to earn up to five times more points on interisland travel, and interisland flights can cost 4,500 points one-way.

Partnerships with local businesses such as Foodland will continue with the new program, similar to how the old HawaiianMiles program worked with these businesses.

For kamaʻāina registered with Hawaiian Airlines’ Huakaʻi program, the benefits such as a free checked bag on interisland flights and monthly discounts will continue with Atmos Rewards. The program will also enjoy a 50% bonus on points for interisland travel for all Huakaʻi members in 2026.

“We recognize the deep connection many residents have with HawaiianMiles. It’s more than a loyalty program — it’s been a trusted travel companion for generations. As we transition HawaiianMiles into Atmos Rewards, we do so with gratitude and respect, knowing that Atmos Rewards and Huakaʻi by Hawaiian will carry forward its spirit while unlocking a world of new possibilities,” said Alisa Onishi, managing director of Hawaiʻi marketing for the two airlines.

Onishi added that the new program comes with plenty of new benefits, regardless of where passengers look to travel.

“Whether you’re island-hopping or heading to Asia, Europe or beyond, Atmos Rewards is your gateway to more — more destinations and more benefits, all while delivering the same authentic Hawaiian hospitality our guests have come to love for the past 95 years,” Onishi said.

With the transition, HawaiianMiles are now Atmos Points, and converted at a 1:1 ratio. There are also new status tiers for former Pualani members: Atmos Silver, Atmos Gold, Atmos Platinum and Atmos Titanium.

The Hawaiian Airlines Bank of Hawaiʻi World Elite Mastercard can continue to be used to earn Atmos Rewards points, as well as status points, on everyday purchases. Cardholder benefits such as free checked bags when booking on Hawaiian and Alaska Airlines flights, will continue.

Access to the Premier Club will be granted to Huakaʻi members who also hold Atmos Rewards status, or First or Business Class tickets on either airline.

If you did not transition your HawaiianMiles account over to Atmos Rewards yet, there is still time — visit the Hawaiian Airlines website for more information on transferring points.

Later in 2026, members will be able to choose how they earn their points, which is unique for an airline rewards program.

Members can choose to receive points either based on their distance traveled, with one point received for every mile flown.

If you don’t fly very far, you may want to choose to earn points based on the price paid, where members can receive five points for every dollar spent purchasing a flight, including premium upgrades and cabins.

The third option would be to receive points based on segments flown, which awards a flat 500 points for each flight segment, which would benefit those who take multiple short-distance flights, such as interisland travel.
