Living808 host Mikey Monis, who has long celebrated Pacific Island culture on his show, will help guide the evening as emcee.

“I was so shocked they thought of me. I’m not going to lie… to be onstage, honoring Fiji, it’s mind-blowing,” Monis said. “We wanted this to be a tribute to Fiji, and everybody to come together as one ʻohana to celebrate all of his accomplishments and bask in the moment of who he is.”

Common Kings reflected on Fiji’s profound influence, not only as a musician but as a cultural beacon whose voice carried across oceans, during their Living808 interview.

“Fiji gave us more than just music – he was the voice that raised all of the Pacific. He gave us healing, identity, and pride,” the group said. “This show is our way of saying mahalo and a hui hou to someone whose spirit and soul will echo for eternity.”

For those attending in person, organizers urge guests to expect heavy traffic around Waikīkī.

Monis added, “I do want to say maybe you should ride share or carpool because it is going to be a packed night.”
