HONOLULU (KHON2) — The Bishop Museum is offering people the chance to experience “The Art of Underwater Science.”
On Thurs., Aug. 21, from 1 to 4 p.m., the Bishop Museum opened a special preview of “Explore EXCORE,” its new ocean exhibit.
This exhibit has transformed the J.M. Long Gallery into an underwater theater.
The theater showcases rare ocean life and features places that most people have probably never seen before.
It’s an exclusive exhibit as it serves as a scientific record of ocean creatures and reefs that may not be around forever.
Those who visit the exhibit will get a behind-the-scenes tour of the Zoology Collection, which includes millions of specimens like coral, crab, and other sea creatures.
The Bishop Museum wants to help protect Hawaiʻi’s ocean by teaching people about invasive species.
It has been a part of Hawaiʻi’s story since 1889.
