‘Bows fall to Fresno State at home in a defensive battle

The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors hosted the Fresno State Bulldogs in a defensive showdown on Saturday.

Hawaii was the 1st team on the board after the ‘Bows defense came up with a strip sack in the end zone that resulted in a Bulldogs safety in the 2nd quarter.

The ‘Bows would then get a defensive touchdown after the Fresno State swing route was ruled a fumble. Hawaii’s Jamih Otis returned the fumble 37 yards for the touchdown.

It wasn’t until 0:38 left in the 1st half when Fresno State scored a touchdown to get on the board,

Halftime Hawaii led 9-7.

In the 2nd half, the Bows scored 6 points off of field goals in the 3rd quarter.

In the 4th quarter, Fresno State intercepting 2 passes from Micah Alejado in back to back drives which included a pick-6 to put the ‘Bows down 23-15 with just 5 minutes remaining.

Hawaii in their final offensive drive saw themselves with a 4th and 8, but Alejado was able to convert 4th down try after scrambling for a 1st down.

After getting a new set of downs, the ‘Bows scoring a touchdown with just 10 seconds remaining as Alejado found Kamoku. But the 2 point conversion fell incomplete and Hawaii ends up falling to Fresno State 23-21.
