Breadfruit Festival is coming back to Kahului

KAHULUI, Hawaii (KHON2) — Get ready for a fun day at the Breadfruit Festival! Maui Nui Botanical Gardens will host the fifth annual Lā ‘Ulu (Breadfruit Day) festival, celebrating breadfruit and Hawaiian culture. 

On Sept. 6, Maui Nui Botanical Gardens will offer a free community day, featuring Hawaiian culture games and activities, crafts, cooking demonstrations, and live Hawaiian music and hula.

This year’s theme is “Plant an ʻUlu, Grow a Community.” The festival is all about celebrating the ʻulu tree and how it helps bring people together.

The event is on Kanaloa Avenue in Kahului, right across from War Memorial Stadium. Parking is free at the stadium.

There will be free parking at War Memorial Stadium.
