HONOLULU (KHON2) — The City and County of Honolulu is accepting grant applications for businesses affected by Skyline construction, the city announced on Oct. 21.
The Transit Construction Mitigation Fund Grant’s online portal opened on Oct. 20, and is accepting applications.
“These past few years have been especially tough for businesses that remained committed to operating along Dillingham Boulevard,” Honolulu Mayor Rick Blangiardi said. “This grant program is about doing right by those entrepreneurs — helping them stay afloat, stay open and stay part of our growing community.”
The grant is designed for eligible businesses that have been financially impacted by the rail’s construction.
Eligible applicants can receive $10,000 grants on a first come, first served basis, while funding lasts.
Businesses must operate along the rail’s construction zone and demonstrate a decline in their profit. Additionally, they must provide tax documents and vendor certificates.
For more information on eligibility and to fill out an application, visit the City and County of Honolulu’s grant website. Applications will be accepted until 4 p.m. on Nov. 6.
“If you are eligible, please apply,” Blangiardi said.
