BWS crews respond to 16-inch Aiea water main break

AIEA, Hawaii (KHON2) — Drivers coming in and out of Aiea were shocked to see a geyser coming from Kiliohu Loop and Kilinoe Street on Tuesday, Dec. 3 evening.

Honolulu Police Department and Board of Water Supply crews responded to the incident just before 4:45 p.m. to repair a 16-inch water main break.

Officials said the main break has impacted water service for 54 townhomes.

Crews are working to bring alternate water sources. Residents are advised to bring their own containers to fill up with water.

Drivers were informed to expect delays and avoid the area if possible.

Honolulu police initiated a road closure for Kilinoe Steet at Kiliohu Loop.
