City Council to meet, discuss key items

HONOLULU (KHON2) — The Honolulu City Council is set to meet Wednesday morning with several key items on the agenda.

Among the discussions, council members are expected to consider a request from State of Hawaii Organization of Police Officers (SHOPO) for hazardous pay for employees who worked during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Additionally, the council will review a proposal that could increase the homeowner property tax exemption.

Another bill up for its first reading would ban plastic bottled drinks from vending machines at city facilities.
