Crews continue work on Makiki main break overnight

HONOLULU (KHON2) — Crews are continuing to repair an 8-inch main break near the intersection of south Beretania Street and Kalakaua Avenue in Makiki.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area, if possible, or expect traffic delays due to lane closures at the intersection, as these lane closures will continue throughout the night.

Two right lanes have been closed on south Beretania Street and the mauka bound right lane on Kalakaua Avenue is closed.

Motorists who use this intersection are asked to please drive with caution near the site to protect the safety of repair crews.

The BWS was able to set up a water bypass to serve the Kualana Hale senior housing.
