HONOLULU (KHON2) — Today, Sept. 27, is the Deaf Awareness Day event at the Neal. S. Blaisdell Center.

Throughout the day, the event will feature cultural performances, keynote speakers, an exhibit from Hawai’i’s Deaf Museum and an educational panel discussion.
Festivities are taking place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Pikake Room.
The event is sponsored by the Hawaii Disability and Communication Access Board.
The 2025 Deaf Awareness Day, “See the World Through Deaf Eyes – Experience the Culture, History, and Voices of the Hawaii Deaf Community,” is meant to recognize and honor Deaf Awareness Month.
Deaf Awareness Month raises awareness about Deaf Culture and life as an individual who is deaf, hard-of-hearing, or deafblind.
Interested attendees were required to register for the event online in advance.
