Domestic argument turns into attempted murder: HPD

HONOLULU (KHON2) — The Honolulu Police Department has released information regarding an attempted murder over the weekend.

According to HPD, a serious incident occurred late Friday night, Aug. 30, in Ewa when a man was arrested for attempted murder after he allegedly stabbed a 36-year-old woman in the neck.

Police said the attack happened at around 10:55 p.m. on Friday evening during what was reported as a domestic argument.

According to the Honolulu Police Department, the argument between the man and the woman turned violent, leading to the stabbing.

Police said the man was identified by a witness who saw the incident.

Officers arrived on the scene quickly and took the suspect into custody at 12:11 a.m. on Aug. 31. Police said the man who was taken into custody is now facing charges for attempted murder in the second degree.

Bail for the suspect has been set at $1,000,000. The court will review the case further.

The woman is receiving medical attention, and her condition has not been released to the public. The police continue to investigate the incident to gather more details.

The Honolulu Emergency Medical Services said they transported a 44-year-old woman to a local area trauma hospital in serious condition.

EMS said “the patient suffered a serious stab wound to her upper body” and that “paramedics responded and administered advanced life support” before transporting her an emergency room.

This incident is in addition to the four people who were shot and killed in a neighborhood altercation in Waianae over the weekend.
