HONOLULU (KHON2) — The Honolulu Emergency Medical Services said they responded to a 911 call at 5:13 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 3.
The call took them to the Palolo Avenue and Uilani Place area.
EMS said they took three ambulances to the scene where they encountered three patients who were in serious condition.
Four men ages 22, 24, 28, and 31 were taken to a local area emergency room for treatment, said EMS.
According to EMS, the incident was a multi-vehicle collision.
Early on Sept. 1, Honolulu Police Department (HPD) and Honolulu Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a serious hit-and-run accident on the H-1 East freeway in Aiea. The incident began around 12:30 a.m. and involved five vehicles.
HPD reported that a 19-year-old motorcyclist was traveling eastbound when he collided with another motorcyclist, aged 23.
Both motorcyclists were thrown onto the roadway; and a 20-year-old driver, who stopped to assist, was struck by a hit-and-run vehicle, according to police.
Police said this collision caused the 19-year-old motorcyclist’s bike to crash into the car that had stopped to help.
During the chaos, a 20-year-old female passenger on a motorcycle was injured by debris from the accident, said police. The 19-year-old motorcyclist who was hit by the fleeing vehicle was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
The 23-year-old motorcyclist and the 20-year-old female passenger were hospitalized but are in good condition. The driver who stopped to assist and his passengers was unharmed.
The 19-year-old motorcyclist was wearing a helmet, which provided some protection. HPD said they are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
